New instruments to control the ozone layer in the Space Station
This
2017 in the International Space Station, the Nasa wants to install an ozone
sensor (SAGE III), which helps to observe the changes of the ozone layer, and it
wants to install an instrument of last generation Lightning Imaging Sensor (LIS),
too. From this station it can observe
the state of our planet and for this reason SAGE III and LIS are going to be
put in there.
SAGE
III will perform two functions: Measure ozone at multiple levels in the
atmosphere and monitor the ozone layer around the Earth throughout the year.
And LIS will capture data of lighting bolts in real time.
There
are provided another instruments for 2019, for example: GEDI that will do a monitoring
of tropical forests or ECOSTRESS that will study the use of water and the hydric
stress in the vegetation.
(This will be the STAGE III)
